Explore Southside and the Beaches With Your New Puppy
Ed Austin Regional Dog Park
Ed Austin Regional Dog Park, at 3450 Monument Rd in Jacksonville, is a free, fenced off-leash dog park covering about 4 acres. Large and small dogs each have their own area, and shade trees and tables make it comfortable to stay a while. It sits inside Ed Austin Regional Park, which adds restrooms, picnic shelters and a hiking trail. No membership is needed, just bring your own waste bags. Let your puppy finish their vaccinations before your first visit.
Jacksonville Beach
Jacksonville Beach welcomes leashed dogs at any hour from October 1 to March 31. From April 1 to September 30, dogs aren't allowed on the beach between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., so plan early-morning or evening strolls in those months. All year, keep your pup on a leash no longer than 8 feet, carry proof of rabies vaccination, pick up after your dog and stay out of the dunes.
The Block Jax
The Block Jax, at 7520 Quarter Mill Dr off Gate Parkway, is a new outdoor food hall and live-music venue right here in Southside. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome in most outdoor common areas, though not in the kids' play park or the main dining area under the pavilion. Kanine Social runs a private off-leash dog park on site; you buy a pass and upload vaccination records before your first visit.
Paws Park
Paws Park, at 468 Penman Rd S in Jacksonville Beach, is a city-run, members-only off-leash dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. Because dogs must be vaccinated and spayed or neutered to join, it's a spot to look forward to once your puppy is older. Until then, it makes a nice goal to keep in mind as your new family member grows up.
Atlantic Beach Dog Park
Atlantic Beach Dog Park, at 268 Aquatic Dr in Atlantic Beach, is another members-only city park to add to your list as your puppy gets older. Little dogs have their own fenced small-dog area, and there's a swimming pond for dogs plus a rinsing station for cleaning up afterward. To become a member, you'll need vaccination records signed by a vet, so keep your puppy's paperwork handy.
From your first Meet & Greet to those first walks around Southside and the beaches, we'd love to be part of your puppy story. Browse our available puppies online, ask about financing, and come visit us on Beach Blvd to meet the well-cared for pup who's ready to join your family.
